I saw this in one of the marketing-related email newsletters I receive each day:
Marks & Spencer, Great Britain’s largest retailer, announced an ambitious Pounds 200 million ($392 million) plan to become “carbon neutral” by 2012, as well as open an environmentally green factory. Stuart Rose, chief executive at the firm, said the plan is wide ranging but that “doing anything less is not an option.”
That’s pretty awesome news. (Too back they’re not here in the US!) Read more: UK-Based Retailer to Go Green by 2012.
